Do it for Babydog Round 3: Gov. Justice and Babydog present $50,000 check, host party for students at East Hardy Early Middle School

BAKER, WV – Gov. Jim Justice traveled to East Hardy Early Middle School in Baker today, presenting students and staff with a $50,000 check as winners in Round 3 of the “Do it for Babydog” vaccination sweepstakes.

The Governor brought along his pet English Bulldog and sweepstakes mascot, Babydog, and threw a party for the entire school to celebrate.

The event also included remarks by the Director of the Hardy County Health Department to talk about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

Earlier in the day the Health Department hosted a vaccination clinic at the school.
In addition to the check and party, an additional 126 prizes were awarded earlier this week as part of the third week of giveaways in “Do it for Babydog: Round 3.”

Maddalynn Paris of Weirton won an individual grand prize of a $50,000 Educational Savings Fund, while another 25 young West Virginians each won a $10,000 Educational Savings Fund; a 529 plan managed by the State Treasurer’s Office that will grow over time and be able to be used for any educational-related expenses, not just higher education.

An additional 100 young West Virginians won a Lifetime Hunting and Fishing License.
“Do it for Babydog: Round 3” is focused on educating children and their parents on the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine and the importance of getting West Virginia’s youngest residents vaccinated.

All West Virginians ages 5-18 who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to enter the sweepstakes. Children ages 5-17 must have parental consent to be vaccinated.

Vaccinated West Virginians still have one more chance to win big in the Babydog sweepstakes.

Online registration to be eligible to win in the final prize drawing will remain open until Sunday, Dec. 12, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Winners will be announced the week of Dec. 13.

For the final week, one student will receive a $100,000 Educational Savings Fund and one school will receive a $100,000 check and will host a special holiday party with Santa (Gov. Justice) and his reindeer (Babydog) bringing presents for students. This event will also include an on-site vaccine clinic and opening remarks by a Doctor to talk about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.
*Those who previously registered for Round 1 and/or Round 2 of the sweepstakes are required to register again to be eligible for Round 3*

Free COVID-19 vaccinations are available and approved for everyone ages 5 and older. West Virginians interested in being vaccinated or having their children vaccinated are encouraged to visit or call the West Virginia Vaccine Info Line: 1-833-734-0965.
