LOGAN COUNTY, WV – Gov. Jim Justice made a pair of visits in Logan County today, to meet and talk with community leaders from across the area.

The Governor’s first stop came at Logan City Hall, where Gov. Justice enjoyed a luncheon with Logan Mayor Serafino Nolletti, Man Mayor Jim Blevins, as well as members of the Logan County Commission, Logan City Council, and other community leaders.

During the event, the Governor spoke about recent funding he secured from the Governor’s Contingency Fund for the City of Logan, to help fund cleanup efforts in the aftermath of the collapse of the Sayer building in April.

“I was really proud to help, and I’ll always be there to help, because that’s the right thing to do,” Gov. Justice said. “But, at the same time, I know that if I hadn’t done what I did, you would have gotten it done because that’s just how good you are.

“I owe my whole life to southern West Virginia; the people, the coalfields and everything about it,” Gov. Justice continued. “You’re never going to have to worry about me. I’m with you wholeheartedly and I’ll never back up from that.”

After the luncheon concluded, Gov. Justice made his way to Man to visit the new soccer field in town, which was recently built on the site of the old Man Junior High School. Gov. Justice provided a portion of the funding for this project as well.
