SNAP provides monthly benefits to help eligible households buy food.  Eligibility to receive benefits is based on household size, income, assets and some household expenses as determined by the federal government by the WV DHHR and governed by federal law and regulations of the US Department of Agriculture, Food Nutrition Services. Medicaid (Insurance)

WV Works provides monthly cash assistance to eligible families.  Eligibility is based on  (1) Financial Eligibility - Family Gross Income and (2) WV WORKS  program requirements

The Bureau for Child Support Enforcement establishes paternity (a legal determination of the father of the child) and support and enforces support from a child's parent.  The Bureau also enforces court orders for spousal support or alimony.

WIC provides nutrition, breastfeeding support, health education and other services, free of charge, to pregnant women, mothers, infants and children up to the age of five

WV Birth to Three partners with families and caregivers to build upon their strengths by offering coordination, supports, and resources to enhance children's learning and development

Help Me Grow is a FREE referral service that connects families with critical developmental resources for their children birth through five years. The goal of Help Me Grow is to successfully identify children at-risk and link them to the help they need

Assistance with purchasing school clothing for eligible children enrolled in West Virginia schools

A statewide system of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies, which provide resource information and financial assistance to eligible families

Child Welfare Services investigates​ reports of abuse and neglect of children. Provides services to children and families in their home

Purpose of Adult Protective Services (APS) is to investigate reports of adult abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation while providing least restrictive interventions

The burial assistance program assists with payment up to $1000 toward the cost of funeral expenses for an indigent adult or child. The program benefits are determined by the burial rate and, when applicable, the amount which exceeds the maximum allowable​
