The Business and Industrial Development (BID) Division has three different areas of focus: 
  • Business Retention and Expansion - helping existing West Virginia companies grow their businesses and discover opportunities for global expansion
  • Business Attraction - attract new businesses to West Virginia for economic diversification​
  • Business Research - 
    provide both internal and external research to support economic development advancement in West Virginia 
West Virginia’s highest priority is meeting company needs. This service includes providing development assistance in the form of tax credits and financing programs. This development assistance can reduce startup and operating costs and provide for enhanced productivity
