Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission Accepting Applications to Fill Vacancy on the 15th Judicial Circuit Court

Charleston, W.Va. - The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission is currently receiving applications to fill the vacancy on the 15th Judicial Circuit Court (Fayette County). The vacancy is left by Thomas H. Ewing, who resigned after being appointed to the Supreme Court of Appeals by Governor Patrick Morrisey.  

All applicants for a judicial vacancy in a West Virginia Judicial Circuit shall complete this Application Form in full and return it via email to JVAC@wv.gov, or by mail, addressed to:

Candidates must submit their completed applications and letters of recommendation or comment no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025. Untimely filing may preclude consideration of your candidacy. Interviews will be held in Charleston on Friday, October 10, 2025.
