Governor Patrick Morrisey Speaks at West Virginia First Foundation’s Initial Opportunity Grant Celebration

Sutton, W.Va. – Today, Governor Patrick Morrisey spoke at the West Virginia First Foundation’s Initial Opportunity Grant (IOG) Celebration.

The West Virginia First Foundation was established through settlement funds won by Morrisey and counties when he served as Attorney General. The organization receives and disburses opioid funds to prevent substance use disorder, support recovery, and save lives.

Through the IOG, the West Virginia First Foundation awarded $17 million to 94 organizations combatting substance abuse in the state. Today’s event recognized the inaugural recipients of this historic funding and their work to build a path forward for West Virginia.
