Charleston, W.Va. — Governor Patrick Morrisey announced today the awarding of $659,570 in Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Title II Grant Funds to 12 projects across West Virginia.
These federal grant funds are awarded to public and private non-profit agencies throughout the state to support local programs aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency, rehabilitating juvenile offenders, and strengthening the West Virginia juvenile justice system.
"Investing in our youth and providing targeted support to at-risk individuals helps strengthen our communities and build a safer future for West Virginia," said Governor Morrisey. "These investments will help local organizations deliver critical mentoring, counseling, intervention, and educational resources directly to families and young people across our state."
The funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and are administered through the Justice and Community Services Section of the West Virginia Division of Administrative Services.
