Gov. Justice orders all U.S. and State flags to be flown at half-staff tomorrow – Saturday, Sept. 11 – in observance of Patriot Day

September 11th Twentieth Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony to be broadcast tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
CHARLESTON, WV – In observance of Patriot Day, to honor the memory of the Americans lost on September 11, 2001, and to pay tribute to all of the patriots who have sacrificed their lives in the defense of our freedom, Gov. Jim Justice has issued a proclamation – in accordance with the presidential proclamation – ordering that all United States and West Virginia flags on all State-owned facilities throughout all of West Virginia be displayed at half-staff from dawn until dusk tomorrow; Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Gov. Justice also requests that all West Virginians observe a moment of silence tomorrow at 8:46 a.m. to honor the innocent victims who perished on September 11, 2001.

Gov. Justice announced that a virtual September 11th Twentieth Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony will be broadcast online and on TV tomorrow.

The ceremony will include remarks from West Virginia officials and families impacted by 9/11. It will premiere at 11:00 a.m. on the Governor's social media channels: Facebook | Twitter | YouTube.

The ceremony will also air at 11:00 a.m. and at 7:00 p.m. on West Virginia Public Broadcasting. Find your channel here.
