SSgt Michael Beall was announced as the big winner at the Charleston Rod Run and Doo Wop car show
CHARLESTON, WV – Gov. Jim Justice, First Lady Cathy Justice, and Babydog gave a firefighter with the West Virginia National Guard the surprise of a lifetime today, announcing that he had won a new Corvette through the “Do it for Babydog: Round 2” vaccination sweepstakes.

SSgt Michael Beall was announced as the big winner Friday evening at the Charleston Rod Run and Doo Wop on Kanawha Boulevard – the largest car show in West Virginia.
Beall, who serves as a firefighter at the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg and the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, was told that he had been asked to attend the car show to receive a firefighter-related award during a ceremony honoring first responders.

Instead, the Governor announced to the crowd that the Beall’s name had been drawn as the winner of the final car to be given away in the second round of the sweepstakes: a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette.
Beall’s new Corvette was presented with flair, as the blue sports car was turned on in front of the stage. As the sport car’s engine roared, the hot rod-loving crowd roared in approval.
The Corvette giveaway ceremony wasn’t the only vaccine-related aspect of the car show.

The Joint Interagency Task Force worked alongside the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department on Thursday and Friday, offering free vaccinations to those in attendance, including 1st, 2nd, and booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as flu shots.
