Ashlee Wilcher from George Washington High School becomes latest big winner in vaccination sweepstakes

CHARLESTON, WV – Gov. Jim Justice surprised a student at George Washington High School with a life-changing opportunity today through his “Do it for Babydog: Round 2” Vaccination Sweepstakes.
The Governor and Babydog arrived at the school to surprise Ashlee Wilcher of South Charleston with a full-ride college scholarship.

The full four-year scholarship to any public college or university in the state, includes room and board, tuition, and books. The prize is valued at over $100,000.

Wilcher was joined by her parents, principals, classmates, and other county education leaders for the presentation ceremony.
Wilcher is among five college scholarship winners this week.
Thursday afternoon, Gov. Justice surprised both
Lilly Keith from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in Upshur County and
Mason Thompson from Philip Barbour High School in Barbour County,
announcing that they, too, were among this week's full ride college
scholarship winners. While at BUHS, the Governor also recognized
Benjamin Currence and Jacob Dodd; two previous scholarship winners
through the sweepstakes.
Chase Donaldson of Summersville and Angela Watts of Cross Lanes were also drawn as scholarship winners through the “Do it for Babydog” sweepstakes.
Finally Thursday, Gov. Justice surprised Jeffery Darnell
of Morgantown at the WVU Erickson Alumni Center, announcing that he had
been drawn as the winner of a new 2021 Chevrolet Corvette.
Today marks the fifth of six weeks of prize giveaways as part of “Do it for Babydog: Round 2.”
Additional winners have been announced today for prizes including a custom boat, a dream wedding valued at $150,000, free gas for 10 years, premium ATVs, top-of-the-line zero turn lawn mowers, WVU and Marshall University football or basketball season ticket packages, and season passes to West Virginia ski resorts.

Vaccinated West Virginians only have one more chance to win in Round 2 of the “Do it for Babydog: Save a life, Change your life” Vaccination Sweepstakes.
All West Virginians who have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can register at DoitforBabydog.wv.gov for an opportunity to join the list of winners.

Online registration to be eligible to win in the next prize drawing will remain open until Sunday, Oct. 3, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. The final round of prize winners will be announced next Thursday, Oct. 7.
Free COVID-19 vaccinations are currently available to all West Virginians ages 12 and older.
All West Virginians interested in being vaccinated are encouraged to visit Vaccinate.wv.gov or call the West Virginia Vaccine Info Line: 1-833-734-0965. The info line is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
