Gov. Justice issues proclamation for 2-1-1 Day in West Virginia

CHARLESTON, WV – In recognition of the vast assistance provided by 2-1-1 – the statewide information telephone line – Gov. Jim Justice issued a proclamation today, officially designating Feb. 11, 2020 as West Virginia 2-1-1 Day.

A ceremony was held in the Governor’s Reception Room at the State Capitol Building today to present the proclamation.



“The West Virginia 2-1-1 network and United Ways of West Virginia partner to provide assistance for all citizens of West Virginia,” the Governor’s proclamation reads.

West Virginia 2-1-1 provides free assistance to our state, providing human service referrals to connect West Virginia residents to vital community resources such as free confidential crisis and emergency counseling, food resources, health care assistance, insurance assistance, housing payment assistance, utility payment assistance, employment services, veteran services, childcare referrals, and family services.
