Gov. Justice proclaims February 14 as Arts Day in West Virginia

CHARLESTON, WV – In recognition of the value of the arts and their positive influences on all West Virginians, Gov. Jim Justice issued a proclamation Thursday, establishing February 14, 2019 as Arts Day in West Virginia.
The Governor announced the proclamation at the State Capitol, in front of representatives from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History and members of art organizations from around the state.

In his proclamation, Gov. Justice noted that the arts “enhance every aspect of life in West Virginia—growing our creative economy, enriching our civic life, enhancing tourism, and exerting a profound positive influence on the education of our children.”
