Gov. Justice Announces Michael Graney as Executive Director of the West Virginia Development Office

CHARLESTON, WV – Gov. Jim Justice announces today that Michael R. Graney has accepted the position of Executive Director of the West Virginia Development Office. Graney will serve under West Virginia Department of Commerce Acting Secretary W. Clayton Burch.
“Mike has the skills and vision we need to create more jobs and more prosperity for West Virginia. I know he will do a great job,” said Gov. Justice.
Graney is a successful entrepreneur and lifetime resident of West Virginia, he spent a large part of his career working in the petroleum industry and served as President of One Stop, in Charleston, WV from 1991 to 2015. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences and a member of the Executive Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Buckskin Council and has served in many other community non-profit roles.
The mission of the West Virginia Development Office is to improve the quality of life for all West Virginians by strengthening our communities and expanding the state’s economy to increase the quantity and quality of jobs. The mission is achieved through a concerted effort by the divisions within the department which include Community Advancement and Development, International, Small Business Development Center and Business and Industrial Development.
