CHARLESTON, WV - After the successful launch of sports gaming at the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town yesterday, Alan Larrick informed Gov. Jim Justice that he would step down as the Director of the West Virginia Lottery effective September 1, 2018.
Larrick expressed his thanks to Governor Justice for the honor and privilege of serving the people of West Virginia and for the opportunity to work with the great staff at the Lottery.
Gov. Justice thanked Larrick for his service to the people of West Virginia. “There is no question he has done an excellent job and he will be missed,” Gov. Justice said.
Since Larrick's appointment in January 2017, in addition to sports gaming, Larrick oversaw a 12% increase in instant sales, the first year over year increase in instant sales in more than a decade, and a $12 million total sales increase from the previous year, the first year over year sales increase since 2012.
