Charleston, W.Va. – Today, Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that William “Bill” Bell was appointed to fill the vacancy left by David Kelly in the 8th District of the West Virginia House of Delegates. Kelly was appointed to Commissioner of the Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation last month.
“Bill Bell has shown himself to be a leader in his community, serving on the Paden City Common Council,” said Governor Morrisey. “I am confident he will be a dedicated public servant and a conservative fighter for the people of Doddridge, Tyler, and Wetzel counties.”
Bell is currently a social studies teacher at Wetzel County Schools and Adjunct Faculty at West Virginia University at Parkersburg, educating a wide range of students from 6th grade through college. He serves on the Paden City Common Council and is the Council Representative to the Paden City Development Authority. Bell has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Masters Degrees from Western Governors University and Ashland University.
